The Audiolab 8000S integrated amplifier was designed with the famous 8000A for inspiration and continues the Audiolab tradition of simplicity and exceptional sound. With such a fine heritage behind it, the 8000S has many advantages, not least of which is flexibility. The 8000S is able to operate in any one of the 5 following modes; as an integrated amplifier, a stand alone pre-amp (with the addition of an power amplifier), a pre-power amplifier with the option to add further amplifiers, a pre-power AV (which allows it to work as both a pre and power amplifier separately should you wish to add an AV processor) or you can mute it with tape loop unaffected. As such there are many future upgrade paths - using further Audiolab or brand amps. Of course, the 8000S is a superb integrated amp for a two channel system. It can be upgraded later by adding further power amps for better performance, though with 60 Watts per channel, the 8000S on its own is able to easily drive most speakers effortlessly and sounds simply superb.
